There are eight color by number worksheets in this Halloween activity pack. They feature numbers 1-11 as well as all of the colors of the rainbow plus pink, brown, gray, and black.

What You'll Do

In order to use these worksheets with your students, just print them out and provide your child with crayons, colored pencils, or markers.

To complete the page, children will color the Halloween scenes using the color code featuring numbers 1-11.

To start, have your child identify the first number (1) and color (purple) in the code. Then, they’ll find all of the 1’s and color them purple.

Continue identifying the numbers and the color words in the color code and coloring the picture accordingly.

Differentiated Instruction

Differentiated instruction is a teaching approach that allows for different levels of learner engagement in the classroom.

In other words, it helps teachers meet the needs of all of their students. This can be done in a number of ways, including but not limited to:

• Providing accommodations or modifications for students with disabilities
• Adjusting the pacing or difficulty of assignments
• Allowing for student choice in assignments

When using these color by number worksheets in your classroom, it's important to keep differentiated instruction in mind. This will ensure that all of your students are able to participate and benefit from the activity.

Some accommodations you can make include coloring the color word for students who don't yet know how to read them. This allows pre-readers to complete the activity using the color swatch as the color code.

Another accommodation you can make is to provide your students with a page that meets their needs as far as how high they can recognize numbers. If they can't identify numbers to eleven, have them complete a page with fewer numbers.

Here are some tips for using Halloween fill in the blanks worksheets with your homeschooler.

Halloween activities are a great way to teach important skills like reading, writing, and math during the month of October. And they’re also a lot of fun!

Your child can practice reading, writing, and context clues with these Halloween-themed printables.

Halloween Fill in the Blanks Worksheets

These reading worksheets are geared toward kids in first and second grades. If you have a kindergartener who is ready for a challenge or a third grade who needs a little extra practice, they can use these worksheets, as well.

To prepare the worksheets for use, just print them out and present them to your child. If, however, you'd like to make these worksheets reusable, you can laminate them. Then, children can use a dry erase marker to complete the page and wipe it clean when they're done.

Before beginning the worksheet, take some time to review the vocabulary words that will be used. This will help ensure that your child understands the words and can use them correctly in the context of the sentences.

Have your child identify all five images at the top of the page. Have them notice the word under each one.

As you work through the worksheet together, encourage your child to read the sentences aloud. This will help solidify the grammar rules that are being reinforced by the exercise and will also serve as practice for reading aloud fluency.

If your child has difficulty reading a particular sentence, try breaking it down into smaller chunks and having them read it one word at a time.

Now, choose the word that will finish the sentence. Instruct them to be careful to spell the word correctly using the word/picture bank at the top of the page.
