PREPARING THE ACTIVITY

Fill out the form at the bottom of this post to get the free worksheets for your little ones. Then, download and print your desired pages.

Let’s take a peek at a few of the activities included:

Identifying Nouns

Nouns are an important part of speech, and children need to learn to identify them early on. Nouns can name a person, a place, or a thing.

For example, “teacher,” “school,” and “desk” are all nouns. It’s important for children to be able to tell the difference between these different types of nouns so that they can use them correctly in their writing.

One way to teach children to identify nouns is to have them complete the “Identifying Nouns” worksheets in this grammar pack.

Children will use the code to color the images according to whether they name a person, a place, or a thing.

Identifying Verbs

Teaching children to identify verbs can be a fun and rewarding experience. By definition, verbs are words that express action or state of being, and they play an important role in communication.

Yet, many children struggle to identify them, resulting in difficulty understanding and producing complete sentences. There are a number of ways to help children learn to identify verbs.

One is to provide them with the “Sweet Verbs” worksheet included in this grammar activity pack. On it, children will color all of the candies containing verbs.

Adjectives Practice

By teaching children to identify adjectives, we can help them to better understand the world around them.

Adjectives are words that describe nouns, and they can be used to provide more information about an object. For example, if someone were to ask “What color is the sky?”, you could answer “The sky is blue.”

By using adjectives, we can give children a more detailed description of the world around them. In addition to helping them to better understand their surroundings, teaching children to identify adjectives can also help to improve their reading and writing skills.

On the “Adjectives” page in the Halloween grammar pack, children will write two adjectives to describe each object on the page.

Halloween Activities for Kids

When it comes to Halloween, elementary school students always seem to be excited. After all, what’s not to love about dressing up in costumes and getting free candy?

If you’re a teacher or parent looking for some fun Halloween activities to do with your elementary school students, here are a few ideas.

One popular option is to go on a Halloween-themed scavenger hunt. You can hide candy and other small prizes around the classroom or school grounds, and give the kids a list of items to find.

Another fun activity is to make homemade potato stamps. Cut potatoes in half and use them to stamp spooky images onto construction paper. These make great decorations for the classroom or home.

And of course, no Halloween would be complete without a good dose of pumpkin carving. Let the kids get creative with their designs, and then display their handiwork for everyone to see.

By doing these activities, your students are sure to have a spook-tacular Halloween!
