Life Cycle of a Bee for Kids
The life cycle of a bee begins with the egg stage. Once a female bee mates with a male, she will lay her eggs in a wax structure called a comb. Each egg is about the size of a grain of rice and is white in color
The next stage is larval. After about three days, the eggs will hatch into larvae. Larvae are small, legless creatures that resemble worms. They will spend the next six weeks eating pollen and honey brought to them by the worker bees.
Once they have reached their maximum size, larvae will spin cocoons around themselves and enter the pupal stage. During this time, their bodies will undergo some major changes as they transform into adults. After about two weeks, they will emerge from their cocoons as fully-grown bees!
