How to Start Homeschooling: Plan Your First Week Workshop.

Make Homeschooling Feel Possible for You and Your Family.

In this one hour, live, hands on workshop you'll go from, “where do I even begin?” to having your first week of homeschooling planned – from what you'll do each day, when you'll do it, where it will happen in your home, and how you'll adjust based on your child's learning style and unique family rhythm.

A Plan You Can Actually Use – Built in 60 Minutes

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create a simple, usable homeschool plan with the support of an experienced educator. This workshop helps pave the way for you to to confidently start homeschooling in a way that works for your family.

Together, we’ll clarify learning goals, design a schedule that fits your family, choose where learning will happen at home, and plan a literacy-based, integrated curriculum that connects reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and art across developmental spans.

You'll walk away with:

  • A simple daily learning schedule that fits your child and your real life
  • Clear core learning priorities, so you know what actually matters each day
  • Planned time for outdoor and community learning – without extra prep
  • Built-in “free learning” blocks, so you’re not teaching or managing lessons all day

You'll also learn how to use outdoor and community learning to take advantage of homeschooling’s flexibility.  Families leave with a complete plan they can actually use right away.

Build Your First Week – Step by Step

1. Create Goals with Intention

Create your homeschool learning plan – the document districts require and families use as an anchor to clarify values, goals, and direction.

2. Identify Your Schedule (Rhythm)

Map a learning rhythm, placing learning blocks where focus and patience naturally show up for your family.

3. Set Your Space

Decide where learning will usually happen at home and establish clear signals that help your child transition into learning time.

4. Build Your Curriculum

Choose your curriculum – built around one shared text, with literacy-anchored activities and extensions tailored to your child’s developmental stage.

5. Choose Learning Experiences

Plan one outdoor learning experience and one community-based activity, treating real-world experiences as part of the curriculum – not extras.

6. Plan for Observation

Define what progress looks like for your child and identify simple signs that tell you when to continue, pause, or adjust.

Getting Started Doesn't Have to Feel Hard.

If you've been thinking about homeschooling for a while but haven't started yet because it feels so overwhelming or hard to wrangle all the moving pieces – that's totally normal. Most families don’t struggle because they lack motivation. They struggle because no one shows them what homeschooling actually looks like in practice.

“Most families don’t gain confidence by waiting until they feel ready.
They gain it by starting with something small and doable for their family.”
